SOCKSCAP V2.40 (2.40-051231) WITH FULL DETAILS SETTINGS

Welcome to my blog, I have made this post especially for those who still want to use this once wonderful socks proxy application called "Sockscap", I am expecting that more people will read this post when they search for SocksCap, and i have found an easy trick to make the application work 100% on your PC without giving error message like "The Version Is Expired" It's very simple, before you install the program, Just set your computer date back to 25th December 2005 or earlier!, e.g 25/12/2005 Or after installing the application, Backdate your PC to 25/12/2005 it will run smoothly without error message that "The Version Is Expired".

Note: You can use an application called "Run As Date" attached in the archive to run Sockscap without changing your PC date. Enjoy!!!

Description:

This program is a freeware to make your programs support socks proxy. SocksCap is a free software from NEC. It enables client applications without proxy settings to access Internet. It just likes a cap. Can cover client applications, caputre their network connection and turn them to proxy software and Internet sharing software with SOCKS5 protocol.

SocksCap:
How To Work With Proxy Software And Internet Sharing Software.
1. Install CCProxy at server.
2. Install SocksCap at client.
3. After install SocksCap, it will begin with configuration wizard. In the popup dialog box "SocksCap Settings", fill local proxy server address in "SOCKS Server" and 1080 in "Port". Select "SOCKS Version 5" in "Protocol", select "Resolve all names remote" in "Name Resolution".

Note: You can also setup SocksCap from "Settings" in menu "File".

How To Use Network Applications In SocksCap:
Take Outlook Express As Example,
1. First, creat a shortcut link of Outlook Express.
2. Launch SocksCap, drag the shortcut link into SocksCap.
3. In popup menu, select "New application profile...".
4. Popup "New Application Profile" dialog box, click "OK".
5. It will generate an icon of "Outlook Express" in SocksCap.
6. Double this icon to launch Outlook Express, now, Outlook Express can access Internet via SocksCap automatically.

All in all, the process of Outlook Express accessing Internet is as follow: Outlook Express -> SocksCap -> Socks 5(CCProxy) -> Internet.

Note: You need to launch SocksCap and run your Outlook Express when you want to use Outlook Express.

Same thing, if you want to use IE to enter some chat room, you can also drag your IE into SocksCap and launch your IE from SocksCap. If you want to use NetMeeting, also drag your NetMeeting into SocksCap and launch it from SocksCap.
